Shobhit Deemed University, Meerut
Shobhit Institute of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, was granted Deemed-to-be University status by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, through Notification No. F-9-37/2004-U.3(A) on November 8, 2006, under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

Accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ Grade in its second cycle, the University is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities. In July 2022, it was recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 aims to increase India’s Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education from 27% to 50% by 2030. This goal emphasizes using technology and promoting online and distance learning to provide equitable access to quality education, particularly for students from rural and agricultural communities.
